5. Published Articles and Open Access Content

JRAFS articles are published under the Creative Commons license specified on the individual article.

Where an article is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), users may share, copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the article, including for commercial purposes, provided that the requirements of the applicable license are followed, including appropriate attribution and indication of changes where applicable.

The terms governing the reuse of a particular article are determined by the license stated on that article.

Users should consult the article's licensing information before reusing published content.

6. Website Content and Copyright

Unless otherwise indicated, website materials that are not published articles—including website design, logos, graphics, editorial materials, policy documents, and other publisher-created content—are owned by or licensed to Eldaghayes Publisher and may be protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Such materials may not be reproduced, distributed, modified, publicly displayed, or commercially exploited without appropriate authorization, except where permitted by law or by an expressly stated license.

  • the link is lawful;

  • the link does not falsely imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation;

  • the link does not misrepresent the content or purpose of JRAFS; and

  • the link does not place JRAFS content within a misleading or deceptive context.

Users should not frame or reproduce the JRAFS website within another website in a manner that could create confusion regarding ownership, authorship, endorsement, or affiliation.

JRAFS reserves the right to request removal of a link where it reasonably believes that the link is misleading, unlawful, harmful to the journal's reputation, or otherwise inappropriate.

9. Manuscript Submissions and User-Provided Content

Authors retain the rights they hold in manuscripts and other materials submitted to JRAFS, subject to the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy, publishing agreement, and applicable publication terms.

Submission of a manuscript grants JRAFS the permissions necessary to:

  • receive and process the manuscript;

  • conduct editorial assessment and peer review;

  • communicate with authors, reviewers, and editors;

  • perform plagiarism and research-integrity screening;

  • prepare accepted manuscripts for publication;

  • publish accepted articles;

  • archive and preserve published content; and

  • distribute and index the published work in accordance with the applicable publication and licensing terms.

The submission of a manuscript does not by itself transfer copyright unless such transfer is expressly established by the applicable publishing agreement or license.

Other user-provided material, such as comments or correspondence submitted through website services, may be used only as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant service, maintain the journal's operations, or comply with applicable policies and legal requirements.

  • attempts to manipulate peer review or editorial processes;

  • constitutes harassment, threats, or abusive conduct; or

  • otherwise interferes with the legitimate operation of the journal.

JRAFS may take appropriate action in response to violations, including restricting access, suspending accounts, rejecting submissions, or referring matters to relevant authorities where appropriate.

13. Disclaimer

The JRAFS website and its general informational content are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

JRAFS and Eldaghayes Publisher make reasonable efforts to maintain the website but do not warrant that the website will always be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or completely current.

Publication of an article does not constitute an endorsement by JRAFS or Eldaghayes Publisher of every statement, finding, interpretation, or conclusion contained in that article. Authors remain responsible for the content of their published work.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, JRAFS and Eldaghayes Publisher shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses arising from or related to the use of, or inability to use, the website or its services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

Users remain responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of information they submit through the website and for taking reasonable precautions when accessing online services.

15. Website Maintenance and Security

JRAFS may temporarily suspend or restrict access to all or part of the website for:

  • maintenance;

  • upgrades;

  • security measures;

  • technical repairs;

  • emergency intervention; or

  • other operational reasons.

JRAFS will make reasonable efforts to restore services as soon as practicable.

Users must not attempt to circumvent security controls or interfere with the operation of the website.

16. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights in the JRAFS website and its publisher-owned materials are reserved unless otherwise stated.

Nothing in these Terms grants users ownership of JRAFS trademarks, logos, website design, databases, or other publisher-owned intellectual property.

Rights in individual scholarly articles are governed by the license stated on each article.

17. Changes to These Terms

JRAFS may revise these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • the journal's services;

  • publishing practices;

  • applicable laws or regulations;

  • security requirements; or

  • editorial and publishing policies.

The updated Terms will be posted on the JRAFS website with an updated effective or revision date where appropriate.

Continued use of the website after revised Terms have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the extent necessary to make it enforceable where possible.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Libya, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Subject to any mandatory rights or protections available to users under the laws applicable to them, disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or use of the JRAFS website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Libya.
